We’re proud to spotlight Liz Tipton, who has been a valued member of The Focus Foundation team for 10 years!
Role at TFF: Liz works closely with families and children, supporting neurodevelopmental evaluations and research studies. Liz’s days often include supporting evaluations, assisting with write-ups, and recording what occurs during testing sessions, giving her direct, hands-on experience with each child and family she serves. Dr. Samango-Sprouse interprets the results, uncovering each child’s unique strengths and challenges, and turns them into practical, actionable guidance. This sets children up for an engaging, supportive, and rewarding developmental journey, which leads to educational success and independence.
Research Experience: Liz brings amazing experience to The Focus Foundation! Earlier in her career, she was part of research studies with parents and children at the Salk Institute and the University of Washington. She also participated in research at UC San Diego, experiences that continue to inform her work today. In addition, she has enjoyed collaborating with early literacy and early intervention programs in multiple states.
Having been here for a decade, I love getting to know all the wonderful families and witnessing the amazing growth and development of their children over the years.
Favorite Part of Being at TFF: “Having been here for a decade, I love getting to know all the wonderful families and witnessing the amazing growth and development of their children over the years. Sometimes we uncover a skill the parents may not realize their child has, and it’s beyond rewarding to see the parents light up as they watch their child’s progress. I am so thrilled when the families share photos of their child’s milestones and other fun days. It’s an amazing feeling to be what I hope is a trusted source of support throughout these years.”
Outside of Work: When she’s not at TFF, Liz enjoys gardening, being (enthusiastically) pulled around the neighborhood by her dogs, indulging in dessert, and flying to California to visit her two kids.
We’re incredibly grateful for Liz’s warmth, expertise, and long-standing commitment to our families. Thank you, Liz, for all you do!
