At 6-1/2 – Couldn’t be more proud of him than I am right now! As I was walking to catch the bus to work, I remember being told a workbook I bought for him was too advanced. It was a book of ABCs, 123, colors and shapes. Confused I asked, so what do you teach a two year old? Not a special needs kid but a two year old? All I got was it was too advanced. So I’m not sure if it was a black thing, boy thing or a special needs thing. I just kept my mouth shut. My child. My lessons. As evident every year since head start, he went to school prepared. He knew what he needed to know for that grade level and learned more along the way. Getting him in school services is hard because they look at him as being to smart for anything to be wrong with him. But we got them (thanks to Dr Sprouse)! Everything is possible thru God but he does need for us to put in some work too. So I thank him for guiding us and sending Angels to help us (the doctors, therapists and teachers who saw past his disorder and treated him as one of the class and the local organization) and his main doctors, Dr Baker (diagnosed him on first visit and told us don’t wait) and Dr Sprouse, who was the first to break through to him and let him know he was gonna win this battle! 😀. Holly, for the words of encouragement from day 1 when I just found out hours before he could be on the spectrum and made calls to get us to Dr Sprouse.  And more importantly, still being there 4 years later. God bless you!
And thanks to you all for the words of encouragement and prayers.
