Did you know? The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires public schools to create an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for children ages 3–22 who qualify for special education services.

An IEP identifies:
✅ Your child’s unique learning needs
✅ The services and supports the school will provide
✅ Goals, objectives, and how progress will be measured
✅ Accommodations and modifications to help your child thrive

For children with genetic disorders, an IEP often opens the door to vital supports. However, children with X & Y chromosomal disorders may not always require a full IEP, especially if they receive targeted treatment and syndrome-specific goals early on.

At The Focus Foundation, we’re here to guide families through these critical steps—because every child should be empowered to achieve their full potential.
