Mary Pat Hamzik is a recent alumna of Xavier University, earning a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in music performance, concentration in flute. She joins The Focus Foundation straight from Xavier where she completed and assisted on several research studies. She designed and ran a study on the effect of performance area on music performance anxiety, contributed to a study on the effects of in-group and out-groups on cyberbullying, and served as a research assistant on a study on the effects of a character strength curriculum on disciplinary outcomes. She also spent a summer working with the Cleveland Clinic ADHD Summer Treatment Program where she implemented behavioral intervention, collected data, and assisted in report writing for children with ADHD. As a member of The Focus Foundation, Mary Pat is excited to continue her work with children and expand on her clinical and research interests.
